Key regulatory franchising framework and practical issues of concluding franchise agreements in Russia:

Julianna Tabastajewa focuses her practice on intellectual property protection and litigation,  as well as on franchising matters, pharmaceutical law, competition law and media law issues. She also has extensive experience in domestic litigations and arbitrations in Russia. Julianna is currently working in the Russian Franchising Association on the legislation development initiative with regard to changes in the franchising regulation in Russia.

Prior to joining Hogan & Hartson, Julianna served as head of the intellectual property and information technology department in the Moscow office of another international law firm for more than nine years.

From 2003 to 2007 she headed Legal Department of the Company, and in 2007 she was assigned as the Director of Franchise Department of Rosinter Restaurants.  In  2001-2002 she worked in the legal department of  Sun Chemical Moscow Printing Inks, in 2001-2004  Svetlana taught in the Russian Academy of Foreign Trade.  Svetlana graduated from Law School of the Moscow University with honour.

Mr. Samper is heading AC Franchise  since 1989.  He  works both for international groups (Carrefour supermarkets, Michelin tyres and auto centers, Jani King commercial cleaning, PPR Redcats fashion retail outlets, etc.) and for smaller companies with more limited resources.  AC Franchise is specialised in the development of franchising’s networks in France and in French speaking countries (Morocco, Belgium, Algeria). AC Franchise is one of the founding members of IFCN, the International Franchise Consultant Network dedicated to help franchisors to export their franchise. 

 

Santiago Barbadillo, Barbadillo Asociados (Spain)

 

 
 

Santiago Barbadillo is graduated in Business Administration by Complutense University in Madrid and master in International Marketing in Heythrop Park College (Oxford).  He began in franchising in 1989, when he worked for National Westminster Bank PLC founding and managing the first Franchise Department in the Spanish Banking System.

In 1994 he established Barbadillo Asociados, a leading franchise consultant in Spain which today employs 30 professionals in different areas, with presence in 8 Spanish provinces and 5 countries.

Santiago Barbadillo is also General Manager of Ediciones de Franquicia S.L., the publishing house of “En Franquicia” a monthly leading specialised magazine on franchising, and the yearly publication Spanish Franchise Guide.

Ferenz Feher graduated from the Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus Estado de México as a licensed administrator with an honorable mention. He furthered his academic career at the Universidad Pontificia de Comillas in Madrid in International Commerce; and was certified as an executive in franchises from the Universidad Anáhuac del Norte.  He received at the Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección de Empresas (IPADE) a masters in administration for top executives as well as an MBA in Franchises at Nova Southwest University in Miami, Florida.  In 2007 he was certified by the ICFE (Institute of Certified Franchise Executives), becoming the first Mexican to achieve the CFE title.

At a professional level he has worked with both Mexican and international companies specializing in administrative and sales areas.  In 2002 he created his own consulting firm, Feher & Feher.

For the last six years, Ferenz Feher has dedicates his career in creating more than 300 new  franchise concepts in Mexico and Central America.  He has also been involved in the Mexican Franchise Association since 1992.
